When you open a business, one
of the first things you need to decide is how you are going
to grow and market your business. The organizations listed
below have helped me get my business off to a wonderful start
and continues to help me grow my business today!
eWomenNetwork
In January 2005, I became a
member of eWomenNetwork (eWN), a very dynamic organization
with over 15,000 members throughout North America and Canada.
eWomenNetwork is a phenomenal organization that helps women
in business by encouraging us to strive to our fullest potentials
and to keep positive attitudes.
eWomenNetwork is the fastest growing membership-based professional women's promotional and networking organization in North America. It is a dedicated community of success-minded female business owners, senior-level executives, and experienced professionals who network and interact business with each other. It combines the power of a high-traffic Web site, which profiles hundreds of business categories and monthly Accelerated Networking Events across North America and Canada. As a member, I have access to any meeting anywhere.
Their mission is to help women achieve, succeed, and prosper by providing access to needed resources and creating connections that move from interactions to transactions. They are business matchmakers connecting both globally and locally. With a membership in eWomenNetwork, you have access to unprecedented new business connections, leads, promotion, members-only benefits and special offers, resources and alliances, coaching and education.
The organization gives women
so many opportunities to grow their businesses. eWomenNetwork's
philosophy is "giving back". They believe, it is not what you get, it is what you give. For example, Managing
Directors are out in the field each day promoting your business.
They also have a weekly radio show where you may be selected
to market your business to thousands of listeners!
In July 2006, I was featured
on Sandra Yancey's (President & CEO of eWN) weekly syndicated
radio show. Please click here to my radio interview...
Sandra's motto is to always "show up" to be successful and to always "smile".
I have had the distinct pleasure to be part of the last four year's conferences that are held annually in Dallas, Texas. I will continue to attend the annual conferences. The conference is an incredible experience, which has connected me with several clients, prospects as well as new friends.
I am a member of both
the Northeast Tarrant and Fort Worth Chapters. I am on the Leadership Team for both Chapters. I hold the position of Membership and Conference Coordinator for the Northeast Tarrant Chapter headed by Tish Troutman and the Registration Coordinator for the Fort Worth Chapter headed by Fey Ugokwe, J.D.
Northeast
Tarrant Chamber of Commerce
When I opened my
business, I immediately joined the Northeast Tarrant Chamber
of Commerce (NETC). It was one of the best business decisions
I have ever made.
I have had the privilege
and honor to work on several NETC committees over the
past couple of years including
- Denim & Diamonds (the
largest yearly event fundraising event)
- Golf Classic
- Black Tie Bingo
- Ladies on the Links
- Awards Banquet
I will continue to serve on
many of these committees throughout the coming years.
I was appointed the Silent Auction
and Sponsorship Chair for Denim & Diamonds - March
2006. I was also appointed Chairperson for the 2nd Annual
Ladies on the Links event, October 2006. I served as co-Chairperson
for Demin & Diamonds, March 2007 and the
Chairperson for Denim & Diamonds 2008.
In October 2008, I served as Vendor and Pampering Sponsorship Chair for the 4th Annual Think Pink! (formerly known as Ladies on the Links).
I won the 2006 Diplomat Contest
in August 2006 and recruited 16 new NETC members in 2006.
I was spotlighted in the NETC's award winning newsletter in
June 2006 which was an honor because the newsletter is only
published 6 times a year.
At the 2006 Awards Banquet,
I was the recipient of the Diplomat of the Year award.
I was awarded this by my fellow Diplomats. It was indeed a
great honor to receive this prestigious award.
I was encouraged by the President
of the NETC, Robert Hamilton to enroll in Leadership Northeast
for the Class of 2006-2007. This class has given me a greater
insight into our cities and communities and how I can better
serve them. It has helped me to further develop my leadership
skills as well as enhance my listening, organizational and
team playing skills. I participated in a "Ropes Course"
and found out I had more strength and balance than I ever
imagined. I graduated Leadership Northeast in May 2007.
It was a truly rewarding experience.
In August 2007, I was appointed one of the Chairperson positions for the Class of 2007-2008 Leadership Northeast. In September 2007, I won the Diplomat Contest for the 2nd year straight as well as 1st place in the $50 for 50 Day Drive. I recruited 19 new NETC members in 2007. In August 2008, I won the Diplomat Contest once again for the 3rd year straight. I recruited 7 new NETC members in 2008.
In September 2008 I was asked to serve as the Chamber’s Business Representative for the 2008-2009 Teaming for Excellence in Education (TEE) Committee for the Birdville Independent School District (BISD).
Also in September 2007, I was appointed to serve on the Chamber's Board of Directors. My three-year term begins November 2007. Our current Chamber membership includes 1,000 members. I was very honored to be one of 28 members chosen to be part of this Board.
